Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match between the French league champions and the French Cup holders after the French winger opened the net early on.

However, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital leveler in the dying moments to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted successfully for PSG to complete a 4-1 shootout win.

Now 14-time champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
